Alright, you have to go to my last post and check out the Build A Bear picture. Explaining it just doesn't do it justice. It is so funny, these are the smallish things that bring me joy.
Hmmm...what brings me joy...how about when I see one of my girls successfully navigate a challenge that just a few months before was impossible? :) We've had some of that with regard to homework lately, and that's bringing me joy today.
Ok, you want the "simple" answer... my family. More in depth? Still... my family! The fact that my DH loves me & isn't afraid to show me, even when others are around. The fact that is is willing & does, sacrifice for me & for the kids because he wants us to be happy. He is a great example to all of us, & also his friends of how to treat people. He also is one of the most forgiving people I have ever met. Talk about a humbling experience, he sees the good & is willing to "over look" the "bad", even when he has been hurt.
My children also bring me joy daily, sometimes it's just the 12yo saying "I Love You too" on his way out the door in the mornings, other times, it's the 6yo coming & playing with my hair as he's sitting on my lap, "just because".
That my friend, is what brings me joy!
Seeing my children do good...and thinking to myself, 'I didn't teach them that.' That brings immense joy to me.
I love to listen to my son play. Somehow a while back MiniFlash got interested in playing with coloring pages as toys. He begs me to print off coloring pages of Optimus Prime and Bubblebee or even Mario and Luigi. He'll color them and I'll cut them out and he plays with them like they are real toys. He take very good care of them too and makes them last for months. Just regular paper.
While he plays you can hear him blowing things up and shotting bad guys and creating dialuge between the characters. Simply listening to him play with these simple pieces of paper is one of the greatest joys in my life.
