Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Well, I said I would never get one, especially after the craziness of the Christmas season and being in retail. That is just insane I tell you. But the stupid Wii Fit had to come out and I wanted one. Especially after everyone on SS kept raving about them. So I talked DH into it and then located one, which was not easy. But it took me a day and I had it. Yippee!

Dh is gone for the weekend, Princess Seriously is gone for the night and Princess Girly Girl (I have an alarm people stop panicking, I am perfectly safe) and her and I had a old good fashion Mother Daughter night. Meaning dinner out, shopping and then a marathon of Wii Play. Now we also played before we left too. Bowling, Boxing, Mario Cart and Tennis. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.

Last night I spend some time with Wii Fit. My balance SUCKS. I also walked for an hour in the morning. So when I got up this morning I was a little sore. I spent more time tonight and it is gonna hurt tomorrow. I am loving to Yoga and I ran more tonight. Fun Fun Fun. I am having a ball.

SO there you have it, a way to track my BMI, weight and activity in one olace. It is a nice change from the treadmill I tell you!

Remembering Nap Time

I truly believe that a nap is good for the soul. If I could take one everyday I would. I used to try to lay down for 30 minutes everyday but lately I have not. Today I went to work in the morning came home and took a nap. I loved it. Some of it is how much I love my bed. Then there is the dog, Maggie. She loves to nap on the bed and there is something about having her there with me that makes me fall asleep faster. Puppy breathe and a warm animal snuggling into my back or feet.

I had a cat growing up that used to sleep on my pillow or on my head. I adored her. I would fall asleep listening to her purr. if I was relaxing she would come and curl up on my lap and if I was laying on my bed, then I would end up falling asleep listening to her purr and kneed her paws.

The funny thing is that she was deaf, so her purring was incredibly loud. She did everything loud. Walked loud, ate loud and bumped into walls loud. She would fall off things and land on her head. She did not have a sense of balance at all. It sure made for some funny times. So I think that is why sleeping with the dog, or once in a while the cat makes me sleep and think of wonderful times with my childhood cat.

Do you ever just want a break?

You know a break from life and stay holed up in the house? Maybe scrapbook a day or two away? Just sit in front of the TV and veg? Not do a thing? That is where I am right now. The funny thing is, I am having down time. No swimming right now, work is settling into a schedule.

Maybe it is end of school year blues. I want to play all summer. The year is going by WAY TOO FAST. It May 20th people. We are almost half way through 2008. It seemed like time went so slow there for a while and and now it is speeding by. Remember when we were kids and it seems so slow. I always wanted to be older, hurry up and come faster. Now I just want to stand up and yell STOP.

I want the kids to stop growing up so fast, life to slow down. It is just too different from when we were growing up.

I am not sure, but I know, a small break would be nice.

Congratulations Emily!

I have watched Emily grow up. I met her as a Missionary and have adored her ever since. She has stayed with us, taken care of the girls, had a small wedding ice cream thing at our home and watched two season of Grey's anatomy late at night with me. I miss having her around after she got married. I was nice saying, what are you doing, come one down for a couple of weeks :)

Since getting married she has moved out of house number one, saved some money and they have purchased an adorable home and are now moving into it. But the even better part is that they are expecting!!!! They will be adding to their adorable family which already has an adorable son brought into the marriage, from her DH's first marriage. They are just the cutest family.

I would post a picture, but I do not have a recent one (HINT-HINT Emily). But I am just to happy to see her grow and have a great life. YOu hope for the best for your dear friends and you pray that life is good for them.

The last of Texas

Once we got there it was all about chatting, scrapping and having fun. Friday night everyone seemed to settle in quickly and relax, some of us went to bed at a decent time. Rick was surprised when he got the call at midnight saying that I was off to bed, it was only 10 pm his time. I had a great roomie, Charla! On Saturday we stayed up much later!

I had great table mates, but so some reason I did not take a picture of the table. I did get Lissa being a back up dancer to Tiffany rapping away.


I finally got to meet Ginger


Just after midnight on Sunday morning, I was embellished and treated to a weight watchers snack cake :)

Stacy, Amanda, Kristi, Cara and Lissa :) They know how to make a girl feel special! I made new friends in Alli, Sheri, Joan and Amanda. There are so many to name but I really did have a ball, I learned the following things:

* I learned that no matter how much you pack you will still never get it all done because it is too important to have fun.
* I learned that Joanie an awesome retreat planner!
* I learned that if you rent a U-Haul then it will not rain
* I learned that if someone is green when riding in the car, it is not a good idea to ask questions.
* I learned my butt is smaller and an airplane seat was more comfortable then in February
* I learned that making new friends is FUN
* I learned that I need more girl time
* I learned that Texas is GREEN.
* I learned that 2 am is a great time to talk about beloved family pets.
* I learned that I can be embellished too!

All in all it was a GREAT retreat, I know I say that about them all, well except that one retreat, but everyone is different and great for different reasons!

I know, I know but I need to talk about my NEW love.

I need to keep blogging about Texas but I have to talk about this first. last night I fell in love with my new soon to be mine camera. I love it, I got to hold a different version in my hands and it was nice. I am drooling. I am very excited because I will pass my camera down to Rick and then enjoy my new one. I just want to finish saving for it first.

Day two in Texas

Just when you think it can not get any better, day two arrived. A couple of the girls needed to head to the stockyards to get some gifts for the family. I hung out at home with Stacy.

Darren, Michael and Dale were kind enough to make breakfast with for us.


Then when we were done it was time to have the famous porch swing picture!




Once we finished that is was time to pack up! We were not kidding!




Then I had to stop Darren and Stacy and get an adorable picture!



Then we were off! The ride down was uneventful, but we stopped at at yummy bakery and I wanted to eat everything there. I was very good and got a wrap snack to share with Stacy later. But before we could eat we had to make a very important stop at Melissa's house. She was not able to go to the retreat because she just had an adorable baby!!!


Then we arrived at the retreat place. It was heaven!!!

Texas and all the fun!

Well I can not even begin to explain everything but all I can say is that I really had a blast and loved every minute of it.

I arrived a bit after the first wave of people. LOL, When I got in the car the first things out of my mouth is I need food. So Chicken Pita later we were off to Stacy's favorite scrapbook store. The funny thing is after working at the CHA show, I run into store owners from all over the place and then we get to chat about the CHA show. The store was great and cute. I found lots of wonderful things and had to resist cause how was I going to get it all home? So I had to hold back.

There was a comfy place to have seat and chat while everyone finished up and I wanted to get a cute shot of Melissa. You know a candid shot, but the camera focused on the flowers instead of Melissa. Then Melissa asked did you just take a picture of me? I answered no the flowers. Now that is NOT what I mean, I meant the camera took a picture of the flower but I was trying to get you.

We got to stop back into Fortress Church. I love it there! It it is wonderful place full of love, laughter and youth! I got to hug one of my favorute people there, Nicki! I adore Nicki!



After the scrapbook store we went down to the stock yards. It was too late to see the longhorn run but we got a college student to stop and take out picture.




YUMMY! Stacy and I both being good, ate a yummy steak and salad! To die for! Yum!


We did some shopping and I found this cute cow.


After that we headed toward Stacy's house and chatted for just a bit, seem the east coasters were a bit tired, Stacy and I chatted for a bit then headed to bed.
