Random Thoughts

Here we go.

I have a homeless friend. He is a sweet soul. I have not seen him in a couple of days and I am worried about him. He has been here for about a year and a half. For the past week I have been "looking" for him and not found him. So if you would be so kind, could you please say a prayer for him.

I miss Donnann. Ok why did she have to up and move. LOL But her Birthday is coming up so I am excited because I have been collecting little thing for her.

I am going on a vacation this weekend and I am very excited. I am going to the scrapbook capital of the world. Yep you got that Utah.

I recently got in touch with an old friend. I totally recommend that. It does a heart good. It is so good to hear that someone is doing well. Hopefully we can get together for lunch soon. But if you have a friend that you have wanted to contact, please do it. Email, write, call or do something. Trust me, it will make you happy.

Today I got to hold a newborn. They smell so good. They are so cute, sweet and just heaven. it is like your own piece of heaven right there. That reminds me, I saw Aleksei this weekend. If I need to ever be reminded of Heavenly Father's presence, I just need to look at him. Aleksei is perfect in every way. He is a walking miracle. He smells good too :)

I have a couple of projects that I need to finish. I am making a scrapbook for Aleksei, paper bag books for him and I have a wedding album that I am completing. I love different projects.

Ok I think that is it for tonight :) You all have a good weekend and I will talk to you all on Monday.

Toes and fingers

What is it about getting a pedicure and manicure that is SOOOOOO refreshing? If you really think about it, it can be completely gross. I mean someone is touching, cutting your nails and taking dead skin off your feet. But at the same time your nails are all even, your toes are painted a pretty shiny color and they just look so neat. There is nothing better then the massage part of it. The place I go uses a yummy smelling lotion and it is so yummy. Did I say it was yummy? I love picking the color that I get to stare at for a week or two.

I love having clean looking fingers, I love the nice neat look of a french manicure. I have long since stopped the acrylic and grown out my nails. It is so much easier to have your own nails. Really.

So tonight as I type this I have pretty toes and fingers :)

Weekend Fun

A three day weekend. Yeah! I love three day weekends. Usually Memorial Day marks the beginning of swim season for us. We usually start with warming up the pool and BBQing and having friends over. This year is a little different. For a number of reasons.

Reason Number #1. Being that Dad was just here, we had a conversation about did it bother him that the Vietnam Vets were treated so differently when they got home versus the Gulf war vets. His response was no, he was glad that they are not going through what they went through. He said that was so rough. You go serve your country in a confusing place and come home and NO ONE wants to here about it. I don't think my dad has ever said much about being out there. He did mention that he sat in a tree for a week and he HATES MRE's. That whole conversation just made me look at things a bit differently. I hope that no vet ever has to face the things that the Vietnam vets had to face.

Reason #2 Dang it we are still not in the house. The gas may not be turned back on yet. We asked the contractor to get it up ASAP because we are missing the pool. It is still strange to drive over to your house and get into your pool.

Reason #3 Because of reason #2 we are not having our normal kick off the summer BBQ.

We did go over to a friends house because their little one was having a pool party. So the girls had lots of fun. After that we all piling into the car to go meet Aleksei and his parents for dinner. Dang that kid is growing. He is soooo stinking cute. You look at him now and you just can not imagine all the things that he has gone through. He is SEVEN months old now.

Emily is in town and I picked her up yesterday. She is hanging out this week and watching the girls later in the week while Dh and I get away for the weekend to go to a wedding. I am very excited to get away. I am also very excited that she is watching the girls because I will not have to worry about them. Got to love completely trusting the babysitter. :)

So what is your weekend fun?

Do you really want to hear this?

Cause I can not believe I am going to post this. Ok, my body is changing. I have never been the smallest person. So this year I freaked a bit about getting older and being bigger. So we have talked about the swimming. I really thought it was not doing much. Kinda a peer pressure thing. You know all the other swim moms were doing it, so I should to. I am NOT the fastest swimmer. I am actually pretty terrified about swimming. I hate getting water up my nose. I am terrified of that. Really. I had too many bloody noses as a kid from swimming. Like bloody noses so bad that I would have to go to the ER to have them stopped.

Ok I am totally getting off track (what is new?). I was looking at my arms today and they are not as flabby. I mean really. Truly. so that made me look at my legs. They are looking pretty good. Better then they have been.

Here is the other part. I was at Enrichment (women's church group) and we were line dancing. Please do not ask. But I was not as winded. That in itself was pretty amazing. I did a little happy dance about that.

So things are changing. I am happy. Next step, weight watchers here I come :)

*Whispering*

Want to know what I did yesterday? Really you want to know? Ok, twist my arm. I was talking with the contractor. Yep. Really.

I have assignments. I need to go pick paint colors. I need to go pick tile. I need to go pick bathroom stuff (like a sink and toilet), the carpet and can go start looking at bathroom stuff :)

We talking in length about the kitchen. I had no idea I had a drop ceiling in there. So changing that out will make a huge difference. I had no idea. The excitement is hard to contain, because it finally seems like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

We were at the house this weekend. I was so hot and wanted to swim but the water was too cold. Dang the gas to the house is turned off, so that means that there is no gas to heat the pool. But Dh went to go get some dinner and there we sat in the backyard eating at the patio table and just chatting. It was almost in tears because for a brief moment it felt like we were home.

I can not wait to be home...

Chips and Salsa Part II

After discussion with good friend (Thanks Donnann for laughing at the right place), it was decided that I should go door to door with the extra chips and salsa.

me:Knock Knock
me:Hello
neighbor: Yes
me: I have something that I would like to share
neighbor: I don't need religion thank you
me: ok but here are some chips and salsa

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

The neighbors dog.

The neighbors have a sweet lab. She is right about a year old. Her name and my dogs name is the same. She went missing about three days ago. We were so sad.

Last night I SWORE I heard her barking. Well if you really want to know (I should never blog when I am insanely tired), the DH and I were, well, ummmm, we were busy... *wink wink* and I say in the middle of something. I say, "that is the neighbor dogs bark". The DH looked at me like I was insane. Ok yes, I had stood in the sun ALL DAY. I am laughing at EVERYTHING, I was so tired.

Oh wait there is a point to this blog entry, trust me, stay with me.

Anyway, The Dh calls while he is trying to get Princess Girly Girl to grandmothers so that he can come help me in the concession stand. He calls, "I found her".

She was hanging out at a house the next street over and she jumped right in the car. He talked to the family holding her and the brought her home. He called the neighbor who was out putting up signs for his dog.

The reunion is happy and the neighborhood is back where it should be :)

Need Chips and Salsa?

So it is swim meet time again. Yep we are host team. It is really good and really bad. Good because we make money, bad because I am in concessions for two straight days.

If I never see and hamburger, hot dog, quesadilla, soda or nachos again, I will be just fine. Really.

So you want to know what my nickname is? The Concession Nazi. You know why? Because the coaches only get so many free tickets and then YES you have to pay for the other stuff. No parent of child whoever you can not have whatever you like because you pay your dues like all of us. Don't even get me started on parents that don't think they need to work their fair share.

Anyway, onto an happier note. We don't skimp on the nachos. Want to know why? Because one of the local restaurants donated chips and salsa. I mean LOTS of chips and salsa. So all the nacho lovers were so happy.

The best part about working concessions is that most of the fun parents work there. That part I like. I am sooooo glad that we are done for the year. It might take me another year to recover.

I will be swimming everyday this week. I ate too many goodies working back there. I will be swimming FIVE days this week. LOL

Do you think...

when you dream of the characters from a TV show, you are too involved? So I watched Grey's Anatomy for two hours last night. I hung in there until the dog. Then I lost it. I sobbed, I screamed and I dreamed about them. WHY is September so far away? When does the DVD come out? Ok enough. LOL

Swimming, I am still swimming. One of the other moms and I do it with such EXCITEMENT. (NOT!). We drag our butts and swim. We are planning to go to Starbucks again today. It will wipe out all the laps we have done in one creme frappucino. Isn't that nice? We think so.

Have I talked about, thinking I am going to die in this house because the A/C is awful? Well a repair guy is coming out today because it is not getting cold now. Freon might be just what I need.

Other then that, not much is going on.

Monday, May 15, 2006

Do NOT look for me tonight.

I will be glued to the TV watching Grey's Anatomy. I will not be answering the phone. I will not answer the door. Do not die, do not breathe because I will not be caring until 11:00 pm Pacific Standard time.

I will probably be crying, screaming at the TV, holding my breath and then screaming some more.

Until tomorrow

So what is a perfect day?

Well, I did not get out of bed until noon. That was because I woke up late, was brought breakfast, cards, flowers and my laptop. The kitchen was cleaned, the laundry done and the girls almost did not fight. I do think they were under death threat but hey whatever works. We went to lunch with DH's mom, SIL and BIL. That was fun. Then I was driven to the scrapbook store and not given a budget. That never happens. But of course it when that happens that you never find what you are looking for. I get to end the night with Grey Anatomy.

What a day!!! I can not wait until next year :)

Happy Mother's Day to all my wonderful friends. I hope your day was as perfect as mine.

Buddy Day

Princess Girly Girl's ballet school is doing various activities this month. Yesterday was Buddy Day. As soon as they said it, she beamed and grinned. I thought she was going to pick one of her little girlfriends. She comes running up to Princess Seriously and jumps up and down, scream YOU CAN BE MY BUDDY. Princess Seriously almost died right there on the spot. I tried to convince her that they were looking for same size buddies, to no avail. Big Sis it was. I cleared with the ballet teacher, who laughed so hard.

You see, I had PS in formal ballet training at 6 years old. She hated every single minute of it. That is when she got really serious about swimming instead. So to PS this was the worst form of torture possible. PGG got up yesterday looked at the calendar and jumped up and down, it is buddy day!!!! She hand picked the outfits (matching at that) and waited for ballet to come. As soon as PS walked through the door, PGG rushed to tell her, go get ready WE are going to ballet.
Now mind you Thursdays is a tight day. Ballet ends as swimming begins. PS is usually stressed to get to swim. She managed to smile and go get dressed. I was waiting for the protests. None came. Off they went and PGG had a ball showing PS how to do it the "right" way. PS was actually laughing and having fun. She was in no rush today. It is fun to watch them have fun together and not fighting like normal.

So I was under DEATH THREAT to not take any pictures. I managed to sneak one through the blinds. PS is the tallest one in the back. PGG is next to her but you cant really see her.

Oh my aching legs

So last night I did not know what to blog about. Today I do. My dang legs are aching, I mean aching. Remember that blog that I said would come about my legs killing because of swimming, it is here now.

This is week two of swimming, I have been pushing harder. Combine that with working on the treadmill and ouch. I tried to sleep last night but my legs were killing. I had already taken an 800 mg advil. I think I finally slept at 3:30 am. So I am DRAGGING today. I mean DRAGGING.

I guess I could look at the good part as in this must mean something. There has to be something going on with my body. All the hard work will pay off for something right?

Here is to hoping.

Sometimes one does not know what to blog about.

Ok this is the SECOND time writing this. Sometimes computer are awful. Other times they are life savers.

So what should we talk about tonight?

I think I am going to die in this rental house this summer. I turned on the A/C at 3:00 this afternoon. It was still running until we turned it off 5 minutes ago. We are so used to the A/C at our home, where we upgraded it so that I could run it from mid-May to October, 24 hours a day. Here it never clicks off. We are so in trouble. I did convince DH to go buy a programmable themostat today to see if it was that. But it never got cool in here today. I think i will be spending a lot to time in the pool at our house this summer. We are going to die.

I did go talk to someone about getting the kitchen redone while all this is going on. Sounds like it could be a very good thing. Who knows. I will get serious about it in about a month.

So that is what one blogs about when they can not think of anything else to blog. The silly mundane things in life.

Scrapbooking

Friday and Saturday was all about scrapbooking. I mean all about scrapbooking. For 24 hours. Well we did take a break to come home and sleep. I think I could have gone longer but I Amber with me and she is pregnant. So she needs sleep and the price of gas these days means that carpooling is a GOOD thing.

I feel like I got a lot done, but then you really look at it and think it as not a ton. I will update tomorrow and give you pictures and tell you about each project. But for now good night...

Happy Birthday to Me

I really had a great day. I received so many well wishes. My Dad called! Now that is a miracle in itself. He remembered!

I am off pretty much for the weekend to a scrapbooking retreat. I will blog when I get home :)

And Thanks everyone! You know who you are!!!!!

I feel so healthy

LOL! So today was the first day of "moms who sit at swimming and eat snacks while our children swim" getting in the pool. Yep you read that right, we got in the pool. Kicked back and forth for 35 minutes.

We then wondered HOW our children did it for 45 minutes. How they did it WAY faster then us. Then we talked about when we were going to do this. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So there it is. The treadmill and I will battle it out on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

So then I had no dinner plans, so I drove through El Pollo Loco and got salads for all except PGG who had a BRC burrito.

My legs are going to kill tomorrow. I am sure I will be whining about it. You might even have to hear about it.

CONSTRUCTION!

Yep, you heard that right. CONSTRUCTION! Full Blown. I took pictures but took them with the SLR not the digital. Don't know why I did that. I will have to go by tomorrow and get some on the digital.

WE ARE SO EXCITED! No, really, can you not tell?

So the beam in the garage is in, the truss (I think that is what it is called) is in. The side of the house is ripped open. The floor in Princess Seriouslys room is ripped up.

I AM SO EXCITED!

Ever think you have the perfect blog entry?

Only to find out later you thought all day about it and you can not for the life of you remember what the heck it was? That is today.

  2. Get to meeting for church women's group (enrichment board)
  3. lunch with the princesses
  4. eye appointment for Princess Seriously
  5. eye appointment for Princess Girly Girl

  11. get home to cook dinner
  12. eat

Oh and PGG told me that Dh would take her to the park on Saturday, so I am off the hook. LOL
