Do Not Faint

Yes this is another post. Sherry should be falling over in her chair since she said I never blog anymore.

There is something bad about going to retreats. It is called reentry back into regular life. *sigh* Yesterday my favorite pampered chef stone broke, the floor cleaner broke and my leg is killing me.

The weekend is great then BAM, life gets in the way, retreat high is over.

Retreats are not long enough.

Home

There is something about coming home after a retreat that is great. You bed has never felt better and it is nice to cuddle up to Menji, see the Princesses and the dogs! Menji is so good about keeping the house up so I always walk into a clean home. Love it.

The drive was long yesterday well at the end. We got home in record time and evern stopped for a sit down dinner. It is fun to talk the entire weekend and it does not even have to be about things that matter!

So I am home, creative juices flowing and looking forward to the week at hand.

Looking around the room

The retreat came at a perfect time for a lot of us. We are all moms, wives, friends, and women on the go. We need the batteries recharged at times and this is how we choose to do it. Pack up the car, drive somewhere, and look froward to the goofy things we will be doing. Staying up late is very common, swapping stories, supplies and laughs are common place. We laugh, we cry and listen to each other. I watch women who probably would never have any other reason to get together and hang out become friends and sister. Then we do it all again the next day.

This retreat is no exception. We meet new people, reminiscence with the friends we already know. We ooh and ahh over each others things. Figure out new things that we NEED to buy because we can not live without them. Give things away because we can and someone else will use it.

I love these retreats, whether I get on a plane and go get in the car and drive. I look forward to the next one, which I happen to be hosting.

Recharging the batteries, the best thing ever.

Retreating!

At this moment I am with a dear friend Sherry. We insane braved traffic last night and drove about 6 hours to belong to a cult. Yes, scrapbooking. We drove until the early hours of the morning to be ready for the retreat that began at 9 am this morning.

The drive was long and I think I broke the iPod thing again, sorry Menji, and Sherry and chatted and laughed almost too much cause I did almost drive off the freeway at one point. But it was a ful filled drive.

This morning, Sherry and I already hit SONIC, where I purchased a bag of ice to munch on througout the day and here we sit among 19 other women (21 total) to laugh, have fun and chat the day and night away.

By the way, I did not bring anything to scrapbook, I am doign card fest and catching up on client photos. But it will still be fun!

Prayers for Danny's Family Please

It has been 5 months.

People have asked why I post these reminders here. It is simple, I remember every 16th of the month. I am sure they remember every day. The pain may fade but the memories and heartbreak do not.

Plus, it is so easy to forget if you are not them, I never want that to happen. Donnann and Dan should not wonder if anyone remembers like they do.

So please send an extra prayer for them. Send them an extra thought.

Was sick

So from that swim meet I brought home a cold. It was nasty. I was down for days and still have a nasty cough.

But the swim meet itself was great! I have pictures, but you can not see then yet, so there.

The cough syrup makes me fiesty. Can you tell?

Updates on life

First things is first, Carson is well, they have started the new normal. Prayers for them as they get back to life.

Princess Seriously starts Varsity Swim today. It is her first meet and she is hoping to kick some serious butt. So keep her in your thoughts . It is a busy week for her in getting to all of that. One that note, I am happy to say that we set some different guidelines about sports and things for her, one of which is that she needed to earn that needed money to get all the things that she needed. She did a good job and actually accomplished that. We got some much needed stuff done around that house and we are sure that we can come up with more. It is the lesson in not just handing everything over but really having to work for it. Remember when we had to work for everything? I remember actually babysitting a TON and then getting a real job at 15 1/2, I have worked ever since then. I have only taken time off to raise the girls, I also realized that it has been almost a year and a half since I reentered the work force.

Speaking of that, I am still trying to figure out exactly what it is I want to do. Right now I am just grateful to have a job. On a message board that I belong to the topic was brought up about praying and being grateful to our husbands for all the hard work and pressure that they have right now in this crappy economy to provide. There stresses are huge right now. I just thought it was an interesting topic to bring up.

Well, I am off to a busy day but hope to be blogging a bit more. Have a great day!
