Reflections of 2006

We started the year off shell shocked and in a different home. We were still in major shock and thinking that we would be home by May. Dealing with insurance companies and living in 7 days worth of clothes for 6 weeks. There was a bright spot, we were finding that things were not as hopeless as it seemed and our home would be restored. It was a great month for Aleksei too, as he was doing so well and there was so much joy around him.

February brought Princess Girly Girls birthday. For one we was very excited that there was not front room furniture because we did her entire birthday in the empty front room. Hey we did the pinata in the front room. It was also Dh's birthday and we had fun celebrating. I got brave and bought a new washer and dryer. The talks had begun about bringing Grandpa out :) Aleksei came home :) Donnann moved :(

March was the month that we realized we were not going to be home by May. We had the front room filled with our furniture and it felt like a touch of home. It also found out that I had my very first cavity, that was a major shocker. Princess Seriously became brace face. DH and I went to Vegas for the NASCAR race and I went to one scrapbook store after another :)

April, Grandpa came out and we took him everywhere. The movies, Disneyland and swim meets. I think I went to Denny's more times in April then I have been in my entire life. Easter was fun and we dyed a ton of eggs. It was also Princess Seriously birthday. One more year until I have a full fledged teenager.

May, Swimming. I began swimming. It was also my birthday. The work really began full swing on the house and it seemed like there would be an end to the whole fire nightmare. It was also a home swim meet where we spent the ENTIRE weekend next to the swimming pool.

June, started off with a wedding in Utah. We also got to meet up with dear friends there and had a lovely day. Construction was still going strong on the house. PS went to girls camp for the first time and Mom survived it. Max the coupon binder went missing and I thought my life was over. I had to start a Re-Max (Max II) and a kind soul send me stacks of coupons. The nephews came in and we took them to Disneyland for the first time. They had a ball.

July, Youth Conference Parents and post it noting. You can cover an entire car with post it notes. The month of the outrageous electric bill. PS sliced her foot open and had to have stitches.

August, SCHOOL STARTED! I also started Weight Watchers. I had no creativity that month. I know that I was busy at the house every day. We were waiting for the house to be done. I was packing up a storm at the rental trying to get ready to move home. Everything was about the house.

September, We moved back home! Before that friends came to stay with us and we had a great weekend together. It was also the 5 year anniversary of 9/11, I did two blog tributes. That was a moving and amazing experience. We unpacked the house in three weeks and only worked on the house. Maggie found a friend and brought her home. That friend ended up being expensive. But she got adopted out to a good home.

October, I went to Massachusetts for a scrapbooking retreat. It was our 14th year anniversary. Things were settling nicely at the house. Aleksei turns ONE!

November, Once of the hottest Novemembers ever. Really. The A/C was running and everything.

December, One of the coldest months ever. LOL

There is more but I will have to add it in. But it was really important to me to get this posted. So I will be back later today!
